Bonheur du Jour

Description
A George III, ca. 1790 satinwood bonheur du jour of small proportions. The top section consisting of two doors with burr emboyna oval panel inlay. Around these ovals there are circular roundels of ebony ground with boxwood dots which are repeated around the doors and around the drawer of the lower part of this bonheur dunjour.  Inside the top section there are four drawers lined in pencil cederwood and a single shelf.  Above the doors there is inlay again on ebony ground of emboyna and boxwood.  The lower section is edged in emboyna and boxwood.  The whole is raised on four square tapering legs with barrel shaped leather casters. For stability there is an in ebony edged cross shaped stretcher.
